Here's my story.

After my MBA from INSEAD and working in management consulting for McKinsey & Co., I was not sure which way to go. My life looked great on paper. But I was unhappy. And lost.

It took me 3 years to find my way.

When my business partners told me about their idea to create a bespoke travel agency in Romania, it felt right. It made sense. Why did no one else think of it?

It turned out that what made sense to us, was crazy to others.

I lost count of the people who told me it will not work. That a business in travel won’t sustain itself. That I will need a second job to finance the travel business.

A bespoke travel business was even crazier. Who would pay a premium to visit Romania with a private guide, driver and have customized experiences planned for them? It turns out that lots of people do.

9 years passed and hundreds of travelers discovered Romania with Beyond Dracula. The company became profitable 3 years after it started and it just got better every year since.

For our 10th anniversary but also because surviving COVID gave us new confidence in what we can do, we are aiming to reach 1 million euros in sales in 2023.
